Where is my reward?

When you redeem a reward with CheckPoints, we'll send you an instant notification in your email to let you know when you should expect your reward. Usually, it takes 0-14 days to receive your prize.

You can redeem some rewards, such as gift cards, instantly from your smartphone. Other prizes, you may have to wait for it to be shipped to you. From time to time, limited stock or other bugaboos may delay redemption, and we will endeavor to let you know as soon as possible. If you haven't' received a confirmation email within 24 hours of redemption, check that you used the correct email address, and take a peek in your spam folder, just in case. If more than 48 hours have passed, please contact us and we'll be glad to help.
For physical prizes, be sure to double-check your physical address before redeeming. Otherwise, your neighbor is going to have a lot of fun playing with your new Wii!

What is CheckPoints?

Featured on CNN, New York Times, TechCrunch, USA Today, and Forbes, CheckPoints is The App That Pays You Back™ for checking out products at over a million stores. Going grocery shopping? Hanging out at the book store? Picking up a prescription? Collect points and unlock exclusive content in stores by checking in and scanning featured products. Then redeem your points instantly for rewards like gift cards, airline miles, and gadgets – even charitable donations!

What are "points", and where do I find them?

Points are like currency in a CheckPoints world. Save them up to redeem them for gift cards from your favorite stores, or great prizes, located in the "Rewards" tab on the app.

You can earn points by doing things you do every day—like shopping or visiting a restaurant. Anytime you're out and about, fire up CheckPoints and check out point opportunities around you, located in the "Earn" tab. Earn points by checking in, then find and scan featured products in many locations to collect more points. You can also earn points for sharing CheckPoints with your friends in the "Share" tab.

What phones does CheckPoints work on?

CheckPoints currently works on most Android and iOS devices. To scan on an iPhone, you'll need to upgrade your operating system iOS version 4 or above. Learn how to upgrade to iOS version 4

How do I download CheckPoints?

The iPhone App is currently available and can be downloaded from the iTunes App Store. You can download the Android version from the Android Market, or visit checkpoints.com/android

How much does CheckPoints cost?

Nada. Zero. Zilch. In fact, it is better than free. For a limited time, when you sign up as a new user, we'll start you with a bunch of free points so you can get a reward even quicker!

I was given a "bonus code" How do I redeem it??

Bonus codes must be redeemed when you register your CheckPoints account. There's a box labeled, "Referral Code," above your personal information—just fill it in when you sign up to receive your bonus points.

How do I share my bonus code?

Just tap on the "Share" tab in the app. Your Bonus Code (which is the same as your username) is shown there and you can easily share it with your friends on Facebook, Twitter and through email. Spreading the awesome value of CheckPoints with friends is a great way to earn extra points!

What are coins and how do I earn them?

Coins are awesome! Coins allow you to play the bonus games in the "Bonus" tab. Spin our slot machine with each coin, and win your share of over a million CheckPoints, subject to our Official Rules. Earn a coin each time you scan a Featured Product-- in addition to the points you'll receive!

How do I get my product or business listed on CheckPoints?

Who are Mr. and Ms. CheckPoints?

Mr. & Ms. CheckPoints are real live Points that represent the places you go everyday: the café, bookstore, supermarket, and so on. They're with you while you're on the move, working as a team to reward you for the places you go. As you visit places and scan products, you collect more Points, which you can trade in for fun stuff. Also, interact with us on Twitter, Facebook and blogs to check out daily perks, like bonus points and coins or to win big with our games and contests! We hope this clarifies things, but you can always watch our video debut.


I'M HAVING ISSUES!


I'm getting stuck on the home screen. The app can't locate me or I get a Location Services error.

These are easy to fix. If you can't be located, close the app and go to your phone's settings options: Settings > General > Reset > Reset Location Warnings.

If you see Location Services error, go to your phone's settings options: Settings > General > Location Services. Switch "Location Services" and "CheckPoints" to ON. Voila!

Why won't it let me scan on my iPhone 3G?

You probably just need to update your firmware to the latest iOS. Here's how: Plug your iPhone into a computer with iTunes and Internet access. Follow the prompts to install iOS 4 or higher on your phone.

It says I'm too far away from a store to check-in / scan.

Poor cell reception inside some stores can prevent your phone's GPS from accurately finding your location. Try turning on your Wi-Fi in your phone's Settings to improve accuracy. Also, try checking in just before going in the store by the front door.

I'm having trouble scanning a barcode.

Here are a few tips: Line up the red line with the barcode, try minimizing any wrinkles or glare in the packaging, be sure the barcode numbers are right side up, and try setting the product down and holding your phone steady for the scan.

I scanned something, but I didn't get points.

Have you selected the right product? Compare the picture and description to what you are scanning. If you have already successfully scanned that product you won't receive points again for scanning that product until later on. If you feel you are scanning the right product and haven't recently recieved points for scanning it, please click the "Report an Issue" button in the app to let us know.

I checked-in, but I didn't get any points.

If you have already successfully checked in at that location or reached your check in limit for the day, you won't receive points again for awhile.

My dog ate my gift card. Ok, I lost it. And it was stolen. How do I get it back?

Please safeguard your gift card as you would cash. We cannot reissue lost or stolen gift cards.

Why don't I see my location in the list of nearby places?

Funny, we were wondering the same thing. Try "pulling down" the list of nearby locations (swipe your finger from top to bottom) to refresh them. If you're still not seeing the place you're at, let us know so we can add it!
